The General Assembly, meeting in Algiers during the course of the 2016 championships, assigned to France the organization of Mediterranean Championships in 2017.
The championships will be held in Marseille, the oldest French city, capital of culture in 2013, European Capital of Sport in 2017.
Marseille is a tourist city that host many congress per year. Is the most important French Mediterranean port for cruises and freight.
The championships will be organized by the French Fencing Federation and by the league Provence and Côte d’Azur.
The Championships will be held from 27 to 29 January 2017 at the Palais des Sports de Marseille.

The thirteenth edition of the Mediterranean Championships was held in Oran, Algeria, the last weekend in January.

The Croatian Federation welcomed the members of the Executive Committee of the Confederation for its spring meeting held in Zagreb on kind invitation of President Zelko Kvesic. The President Kvesic was present at the beginning of the meeting, with the Secretary General Reno Marolt and Ms. Martina Zmaic, organizer of the week-end.
The Committee took note of the waives of Morocco to the organization of the championships in 2016 and assigned them to Algeria, which has chosen Oran as city conducting. For the 2017 championships, France and Egypt have already applied for membership; the final decision will be taken in Oran.
The Committee decided to support three stages for technicians of the Mediterranean countries to organize in September in Lebanon (epee), Egypt (foil) and Algeria (saber).
The meeting was the opportunity to visit the Croatian capital and installation of the city headquarters of various fencing clubs.

The Executive Committee decided, in Zagreb, the organization of three courses for fencing technicians and coaches of the Mediterranean countries.
The courses will take place in September under this program:
FOIL – In Cairo (Egy) – Fencing Master appointed by the Italian Federation
EPEE – Beirut (Lib) – Fencing Master appointed by the French Federation
SABRE – In Algiers (Alg) – Fencing Master appointed by the French Federation
Each course is open to a maximum of fifteen fencing technicians, ten of the host country, five from neighboring countries.
